Funding for NHS Continuing Care

Personalised to you

You may be eligible for free NHS Continuing Care if you have a complicated medical condition or requirements as a consequence of an injury, sickness, or disability.

In contrast to social care, this is often offered to patients who need nursing care. If you are receiving care at home, it may help with the cost of your medical bills, personal care, accommodation, or caregiver support.

You must first go through an initial screening before a more complete evaluation is done by a team of two or more health and social care experts who are engaged in your care to determine whether you qualify for free NHS Continuing Care. You can inquire about a fast-track evaluation to skip the first test if your health is quickly declining.

If you don’t qualify for NHS support at your initial assessment and your circumstances then change, you may ask for a review from your GP or social worker.
